So, Junior has been and gone, the possible lambing dates have been recorded and preparations for lambing have begun. But what does all this mean for the three girls and their Jacob friends?

Well, it's been a little quiet since Junior left us but the girls are all doing really well staying healthy and well fed with no problems whatsoever (touch wood). Through these cold winter months, we've also introduced some hay into their diet as there is not so much nutritious grass on offer like there is in the warmer months.

In the previous post I wrote about the possible due dates of our newborn lambs. These dates are based on when we saw Junior had covered the ewes so are not completely accurate. To properly determine how many lambs there will be and when they will come, ewes are scanned. I have organised for a scanner to come to the farm this coming Friday as it will give us a great insight into how to prepare for the lambing season as I will know whether I'll need to hand rear any as well as when I need to be on full alert!
